I chopped through my fingernail and nail bed last night when I was chopping an onion. I pride myself on my knife skills but I guess that's being a little cocky considering I butchered my finger. Still makes my knees week when I think about it. I haven't looked at it since last night. My thumb throbbed all night. I am really worried I am going to lose my fingernail.

Speaking of cooking....
The premiere of Season 5 Top Chef starts on Wednesday. So set your DVR's for the season.

What a week

I mean, what a week. I didn't think I'd make it through. We had to drive back from N.C. and that took us 11 hours and 6 min. door to door. and on top of that I had to say goodbye not only to DeDe, the Bachelorette but also to the Real World Hollywood gang. A really hard week. I am not sure what to think about DeAnna's outcome. It all seemed a bit staged but I haven't thought about it much since. The Real World on the other hand...God, I love it. Since I was 20 I have said I would do anything to be on it and I still haven't changed my mind. I am steadfast in the belief that I would make for good tv. But I guess now I am classified as an "aged mother" which is what the doctors classify me as when having a baby. But I don't feel like it when in the context of the Real World. I can still whoop it up with the best of them and I know I would be one of the best characters on the show. I swear, I may be 37 but I can hang with any 20 year old if my life depended on it. The partyin' and the drama and the fun and the bonds they make.....OH MY GOSH! I can't stand the thought that the Real World passed me up.

I'm serious.

Gossip Girl

I'm pissed right now. I'm pissed because my back hurts and I'm tired and all I want to do was watch the new show by the creators of the O.C., Gossip Girl and I can't. The sound on channel 13 isn't working. Are you having this problem? I pushed the big chair all the way up to the tv, still couldn't hear it. I sat in front of the tv, a fingers length away, nothing. I am mad. I am tired of being pregnant, tired of my back hurting, tired of not being able to take a really hot bath to make my back stop hurting and tired of not being able to drink a bottle of wine to make the fact that I'm really mad not so bad. So here I am at the computer.

I just read a post about babies on a blog. and then I started thinking about my baby, W and then the conversation I had with two friends in the past two days about wether I am going to have a girl or a boy. I am fine to have another boy. I would love to have another boy. I love my baby boy, my son, my life. To have another one....would be the best. But a part of me wonders if I would miss having a girl? Then I think about how mean girls can be to their moms which brings me back to the conversation I had with my friend this afternoon. Boys can be mean too. All kids can when they hit the teenage years and golly, how that is going to kill me. I live my life for my sweet baby and think about him all the time, worry about him everyday, laugh when he laughs and a lot of times cry when he is sad and to think that one day he may very well scream, "I hate you" or even worse just give me the silent treatment. It makes me want to cry. W and I had a 5 minute conversation this afternoon. Not about anything. Believe me when I say that. But it was the most enjoyable 5 minutes I had all day. I can't imagine that same sweet little boy being mean to his mommy.

P.S. If it turns out you are in fact having the sound problem with the CW network, Gossip Girl will be rerun again on Sunday night. My sweet husband came up to tell me that and also that he set it to record for me. I bet he was never mean to his mom.

Catastrophe avoided

I am still sweating. I haven't really been home much today and when we finally got back from the store and went in the den to hang out, play and catch glimpses of Sesame Street I came upon the this small devastation.

Cable was out. I couldn't get Sesame Street or the Food Channel or Oprah, which means I would't be able to get Big Brother. I started to sweat. I called Cox and tried to refresh and then waited to talk to a person. She wasn't any help. Said that I had to have a technician come out and they didn't have an opening until Monday!I scheduled the appointment and then unplugged the box which made it worse. I had channel 7 before and now I had nothing. I called J again in a panic. Like he has nothing better to do than to worry about the tv. The lady told me she understood my pain because "everyone wants to watch the game" The game!? What game? I told her I was worried about my reality tv. I refreshed again and called Cox again and got a guy. A young guy who seemed to be a bit more empathetic and lo and behold while I was explaining my dependence on nighttime television (I don't watch it much during the day) it came back on. Hallelujah!!!!!

The Hills August 20, 2007

O.M.G.! Heidi! Your fiance is a total loser who highlights his hair, buys your engagement ring from an accessory shop, and has your apartment painted with a "beautiful" mural of graffiti. (The centipede video game, on the other hand is awesome! What I wouldn't kill for a Miss Pacman at my house.) Good for Heidi for painting over it and giving him a "surprise". Spencer was pissed and mark my words, one day he is going to SNAP. He seems awfully unstable to me. It's ashame too, because I do like Heidi. She's got balls.

As for LC. Last week I was worried that she was just an insecure girl who doesn't like it when her friends have boyfriends when she's single but after meeting Justin-Bobby for drinks, I get it. He's a total loser too. Too cool for school. Take a bath, dude.

I think instead of worrying about her friends' boyfriends, LC just needs to get new friends who aren't attracted to freaks. She needs to stick with Whitney. Audrina is way too alternative for her, anyway.

Bachelor and Tessa still together!

I have been getting a lot of search inquiries about the Bachelor and Tessa, even after all of these months. I had forgotten about them. But, what with all the interest I decided to do a little research of my own and here's what I found according to Give me my remote.com

In this fabulous photo, they had just completed a triathalon. She seems embarrassed to be with him. Wouldn't you?

The Hills Season 3-Save the Date

Yeah you right!!! The Hills is set to premiere season 3 on August 13.

LC has a new roomate and "wingman" in Audrina.
Heidi has an engagement ring around her finger.
Whitney has a new job at Teen Vogue.
and Audrina has a new boyfriend! LC may not like this. Seems like he may be "the one" and she'll have another roomie leaving her high and dry.

I cannot wait!

Ode to J

I feel like a bad wife, lately. My patience is wearing thin, although I feel relatively good, I'm tired and hot and I find myself taking it out on J. He's the best, really and I need to keep myself in check or he'll soon go running for the hills. He works all day, hard and works at night too and he even finds the energy to wake up with the LB, feed him breakfast, let him roam around our room while I sneak out and go downstairs to eat breakfast and read the paper before my day with the LB begins and then when he comes home he takes the LB upstairs while he changes out of his suit, then he gets the LB ready for bed and puts him to bed too. Whew. I'm even more tired just thinking about his life.

and I get all giddy when he comes home early and I know that he thinks its because he can play with W so I can relax but it's not that really. I get giddy when he comes home early so that we get a chance to hang out and talk before the nightly tv marathon begins. Tivo has changed the way we watch tv and I always thought for the better but it just allows the room for more and more and more shows to come into our lives until finally we aren't doing anything else but watching tv. It must stop. I'm getting couch potato-ish.

But the point of all of this is to thank J for everything he does and to tell him I love him. Because I forget to do that as I am fast forwarding through the next commercial.

Quick Note on Big Brother 8

Did you watch? If you did, how about the clip with Jen ugly crying over her picture on the Big Brother Wall. It was hilarious. What a vain idiot.

Big Brother 8

I wasn't very inspired by the cast of BB8 this season. I am sure that some of them will grow on me but can anyone ever match Will's personality. I don't think so. I didn't much like the twist of them sending in rivals/enemies. It's kind of old. They already did that-Alison's and Jason's season, although I am intrigued about Danielle's hatred for her freak of a father. From what I gather she is embarrassed not only by his looks but by his attitude and lack of morals. I am just guessing. Even though I wasn't smitten with any of the cast, the show was still good and it was over before I could say Expect the Unexpected.

The cast of The Hills

My cousin, E, just shared this very exciting news with me. The cast of "The Hills" will be on the Tyra Banks show on Friday. Tyra totally bugs. Her network was the only channel we could get while evacuated in Baton Rouge after Katrina. I got to the point where I would rather not watch anything than watch her but Friday will be an exception. If you too are a fan of "The Hills" check it out. I think that it comes on WUPL my54 at 2pm. It lists 9am also but I think that's a rerun. Her website was confusing so I'm not 100% that the channel or time is correct.

Lauren Conrad on The Hills is back for the summer

I know I'm supposed to be on a mental vacation but I just found out some news that is too good not to share. The Hills will be returning for the summer. We won't have to wait until the fall! Wahooooo!

Tessa beats Bevin out for Lt. Andy Baldwin

I loooove Tessa. She's much prettier than Bevin. It always solidifies my opinion when they get kicked out. The 'poor me, it always happens to me' ranting. Blah. But I was totally shocked that Andy picked her and I was happy for her but at the same time sad for her. I can't explain why. Maybe a little bit of me thinks that she can do better than Andy Baldwin. I don't know. I did enjoy his family especially Grandpa. He's kind of spunky, that one. I somehow knew the Bahai (sp?) faith wouldn't go over well with the conservative family from Pennsylvania. But I thought she had finally won them over.

I'm atleast glad that Tessa didn't get her "heart broken" and maybe she can move on her own time. I don't see it working out but I've been wrong before. We will see on "After the Final Rose".

Bachelor-can''t decide if he shocked me or not

First of all-I've called Danielle and Tessa as the last two standing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. But I think I am a bit shocked that Bevin is one of the final three. I think her past threw him for a loop and if that didn't do it, her crying father wouldn't have made me want to throw her out the window as far as I could throw her. Not to mention the wierd mom's painting that she gave to both of them.

But then when I think about the scene with Amber and the roomate at the dinner table-guffawing over the dog peeing on the floor acting like, well, like what they are, just out of college girls-I'm not so shocked that he kept Bevin. But I really do like Amber and I was even more surprised at her hyperventilating in the limo. I guess it shows that she's not as mature as she thinks she is.

and even though I called Tessa as making it through, she made me a little nervous during their last conversation. But he seemed to think that it went awesome so that is all that matters. I love her. She's normal and nice and pretty (in a different sort of way).

Danielle's family was probably the most normal although I couldn't stop looking at her mom's teeth and I would like to put some meat on her dad's bones. He looked like Jack Spratt but the marathon running explained a lot.

I cannot wait until next week. Again, I am calling Danielle and Tessa as the final two but a little part of me is secretly worried that Bevin will pull something out of her hat, like sex, to stick around until the end.

The Bachelor-Tessa and Danielle

I am calling it already. Yes, even before seeing the home town dates. Tessa and Danielle will be the last two standing. Bevin is waaaaay too desperate. Although I don't find what's his name to be the best looking bachelor, and although a bit dorky, I do like him and I find that he sees through all the crap. I don't think he will care when Bevin tells him she's divorced. Let me rephrase. If it weren't for all the melodrama she is creating over her divorce, I don't think he would think twice about it. I really do like Amber but I am worried about her hometown date. Now this is strictly judging from the previews that show her crying over the fact that her family won't meet the bachelor (what is his name!? I'm drawing a blank) but I have a feeling that it will be too much for the bachelor.

We'll see how accurate my predictions are tomorrow.

Oh and this just in from Reality TV News Blog. Amber's principal at the school where she teaches got demoted for letting her go on The Bachelor.
