Goodbyes aren't any fun.

I have to give it to the Little Bluddy. For awhile there when we went to the park he didn't want to play if other kids were around. That was no fun. But I think it must have been a phase because he has been having a ball the last few times. He was like a little pig by the time we left today-a dirty mess-but so were the other kids. I think it's a measure of how much fun he had. Kind of like Mardi Gras. The more trash, the more successful.

It's been really nice having Mimo and Papa in town. We've been spending afternoons with them and W really looks forward to the Mimo and Papa-time. Now he knows when we get in the car in the afternoon that he's basically going to the BIG PLAYGROUND. and it certainly passes the afternoon for me. The summer is kind of bittersweet. I am so ready for the hot weather but not looking forward to Mimo and Papa's imminent departure to NC. and if W knew it, he would be awfully anxious too. He likes saying Bye Bye right now. He giggles and laughs and waves when it's time to go but that summertime Bye Bye will teach him that Goodbyes aren't any fun.
